Explore the shore programme

This programme brings to life the diverse habitats and wildlife found on the Donegal coastline; the rocky shore, sand dunes, the shore line, estuaries and out to the open sea. Pupils will engage in lively indoor educational activities to create a sense of responsibility and appreciation for their local Coastline area.

Topics include
- The water cycle
- coastal plants and animals and how they have adapted
- watery habitats
- Birds and migration - winter and summer
- Food chains and life cycles on the coast and open sea
- The importance of the coastal habitat in our every day life

Audience level
Explore the shore Outreach programme is suitable for all classes

Session Length
All outreach programmes contain an interactive powerpoint presentation and a variety of practical learning activities. The length of each session can be tailor made to suit the classes own timetable.
